I was the lea for an after school program for children in K3, K4 and K5. For the 3 and 4-year-old children who attend 1/2 day of school that meant sharing lunch with them (while teaching manners), quiet/nap time, lots of hugs and small group activities. The 4-6-year-olds relaxed, learned and had fun. We had a lot of outdoor time, art projects and free time. Before becoming a teacher I served as a nanny for twin 6-year-old boys picking them up after school and caring for them for a summer. I also taught swimming to young children and served as a swim coach as well as a softball and basketball coach. I am energetic. I like to have fun with children while also teaching them important lessons like being the best you can be, being kind, trying new things, being persistent, enjoying reading and art and the outdoors. I worked for 30+ years in non-profit communications/fund raising.
