About Kathryn

My experience has been in taking care of my mother who had dementia. She was able to stay at home while I cared for her until she needed 24 hour care. At that time, my sisters and I placed her in a wonderful facility where she was able to be cared for and was close enough for us to see her daily. In caring for mother, I prepared all the meds; her meals; made sure she got some exercise each day and that she saw all her daughters as much as possible which was always the highlight of her day. Learning what things she could do and enjoy was always a continuous process as her dementia progressed. I also spent lots of time with other residents in the facility and helped them with their meals; played games with them; read books; etc. Sometimes l could take the ones who mobile outside to enjoy the nice weather.
