I love working with kids and would love to work with a new family in Seattle while in school Masters in Social Work. I am a great student and am very responsible. That being said, I still know how to have fun. I think treating children like equals is very important and like to implement that philosophy in every childcare job I have had. It allows for the kids (and myself) to have fun, positive experiences, while still getting our work done and having a mutual respect. I've nannied for families in the past, have been a frequent babysitter since middle school, and have worked three summers at a summer camp. I like getting the kids outsides for bike rides, swimming, and trips to the park. My school doesn't start until September 20, so I have open availability for most of September. I look forward to hearing from you!

Kate is compassionate, trustworthy and adaptable. Compassionate – Kate has the best energy – always upbeat, highly knowledgeable with a can-do attitude. Kate is patient, kind and loving, even when our 18 month old daughter and our dog were having challenging days. She also adapted quickly to the needs of our very smart dog, who uses recordable buttons to communicate, even making sure she understood what our dog’s communication patterns were on a day when our dog kept pressing “concerned” and various other buttons. That level of empathy is critical for understanding and adapting to the needs of an individual. Trustworthy – Kate is incredibly trustworthy, dependable and a great communicator. My daughter is absolutely elated every morning to see Kate and greets her at the door, and that is the best feeling as a parent. They have so much fun together. Kate is so observant and communicates behavior changes or anything noteworthy to me. I haven’t always allowed previous nannies to take our daughter outside our home, but with Kate, I fully trust her judgment and abilities with my daughter. Adaptable - Kate was able to quickly learn our daughter's individual needs, favorite activities and schedules, which for a toddler can change weekly, sometimes daily! She also has been able to adapt her caregiving style to incorporate some of the values that are important to us, which I really appreciate her flexibility and adaptability. Watching a toddler can be challenging, especially as meltdowns can happen, but Kate viewed those as an opportunity to try new things, and I never saw her get frustrated or stress and was always able to pivot/try new things.
