About Katherine

I enjoy tutoring because it allows me to be creative and help an individual grow. As I get to know a child with varying abilities I learn their interests. As I learn their interests I am able to develop curriculum that aligns with interests and in turn motivates the child and helps them grow. I'm looking for a job that allows me to assist a family with supporting a child with varying abilities to continue to work on academic goals at home. I am willing to also work on functional skills as well. I started tutoring when I was in college to help a family who was looking for help with their 8th grader who was refusing to do homework and study. I then graduated with my BA in Special Education and taught for 15yrs. Now I train teachers on the job.
