I have worked in a cardiac ICU, a Psych step down intermediate care unit, for agencies that take care into nursing homes, and in multiple home health care settings. I have experience working with dementia and the special care and attention that it requires. I have 8+ years experience caring for patients with muscular dystrophy and quadriplegia total care. I am proficient with CPAPS, some wound care, range of motion exercises, total care, CPR and life support measures, medication management, feeding tube care, and hospice care. Katie is, of course, competent and excellent at her job. More importantly, for us, was her personality. Katie is fun. She is loving. She is empathetic. She bonded immediately with my mom and was skilled at handling not just her physical needs, but also her social/emotional needs and behavior. Katie was excellent at communicating with my husband and I and remained flexible in helping with mom in whatever way she was needed.
