I have been doing nursing home and at home care for 15+ years. I started in high school and loved it so much I continued on into my adult years. I love working with other individuals and feel when you work one on one you can be more personal and give more attention to the individual then you can in a nursing home. When your able to stay with someone so they can be comfortable in their home, you make everyone feel better because the individual is able to enjoy their surroundings they are comfortable with. It is hard to invite people into your home, and not know if they will be respectful of your wishes, but I love to follow other directions and help in any way needed. I love playing cards, baking, cooking, taking walks and have had a few individuals attempt to teach me to sew. I love giving personal care to others as it makes me feel better that I am helping someone else live out their life the way they want to and not having to be part of 10 other individuals trying to receive.
