Hi there! I'm a fun, nature-loving professional who adores working with kids. In 2014 I earned a TEFL-YL degree and a certTESOL degree from Trinity College in London, and I went on to spend 2 1/2 years teaching children in Europe. Upon returning to the U. S. I worked as a Sales and Account Manager, but in 2020 I decided to change career paths and work with children once more. I worked as an Education Pod teacher for five wonderful kids in first and third grade in early 2020 when schools shut down. Once schools reopened, I moved on to tutoring three wonderful girls part-time, while simultaneously nannying an adorable infant. After taking some time off to manage the opening of a rental property, I'm eager to work with kids again. I know that these are formative years for kids, and I'm confident that I can impart knowledge about a range of subjects--from foreign languages and cultures, to tolerance, to healthy foods, to the outdoors. Above all, I believe kindness and patience are key!

I have no complaints! We hired Katie back in November 2020 and she took great care of our son from 8-14 months. She was always conscientious about making sure we satisfied with her care and that she was meeting our expectations. Our son had so much fun with her and would get the biggest smile when she came through the door. She was always so friendly and gentle with him. Hiring during the Covid pandemic was tough but it was an area where Katie stood out. She was extra cautious and communicative regarding her health and any testing. She was happy to wear her mask and had a good home environment for Covid safety. Katie was also very communicative when it came to punctuality/attendance. She always arrived right on the dot and if there was an instance where she was going to be even just 5 minutes late, she'd let us know. If there was ever a day she wouldn't be able to make it, we had as much notice as she could possibly provide. I highly recommend Katie to anyone looking for childcare!
