About Katherine

I'd describe my personality as outgoing, creative, and empathetic. During the school year, I am a 5th grade teacher and high school softball coach. I love working with kids because I enjoy watching them grow as humans and learners and getting to inspire them to explore their surroundings with an open mind. I started working with kids as a babysitter when I was 12 years old, but I have worked as a teachers aide, pre-school teacher, nanny, elementary school teacher, summer school teacher, and a high school softball coach professionally. In my spare time, I like to travel, journal, play softball, and explore the city. One thing you should know about me is I'm very flexible, and am always willing to make accommodations when necessary. My skills include understanding what a child is feeling and approaching the situation in line with their needs, teaching students based on their own learning styles and abilities, and finding ways to include learning in any scenario.
