About Katharina

I am a violinist and singer, and have been playing, singing, and teaching professionally for the last 8+ years, primarily in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. As a teacher, my goal is to help students of all ages progress musically in a way that is fun, engaging, and rewarding. On violin, I like to take time at the beginning to make sure your foundation is set up well in order to have solid base that can take you through advanced levels. After graduating with a Bachelor of Music from Lawrence University Conservatory, I sang and played professionally in the San Francisco Bay Area, focusing on classical, choral, and chamber music, as well as specializing in Celtic (mostly Irish) folk music. I also love musical theater, jazz, and pop, and am happy to work on building foundations for any musical genre. I am bilingual in German and English, and can teach in either language, though I have primarily taught in English.
