About Katelyn

I am employed as a preschool teacher/inclusion aid for children with special needs. I began babysitting 6 years ago and have worked with children ranging from age 3 months to 15. Working with children has been my passion since the first time I volunteered at a special needs summer camp, summer of 2009. I also enjoy working with all animals. I have some Spanish background from high school courses, but I am not fluent. I believe learning is continually happening and never ending, therefore it is important to encourage learning outside the classroom. I encourage the children I work with to learn through problem solving, exploration/experimentation, and research instead of simply asking for the answer. I am a big advocate for outdoor activities. Swimming is by far my favorite outdoor activity! I also enjoy making crafts, painting, and writing poetry. Thank you for your interest in my bio!
