About Katelyn

Hi there! My name is Kate and I'm currently pursuing my Masters degree at the University of Minnesota. My field of study involves improving accessibility to women and girl's education worldwide. Working with kids has been a huge passion of mine throughout my entire life, and I've worked with kids in a variety of settings such as a babysitter, full-time nanny, summer camp counselor and supervisor, and most recently, a middle school English teacher. I have experience working with kids of all ages, from infants to teenagers, and from all walks of life. I have worked with children with special needs such as ADHD, dyslexia, autism, and behavioral struggles. My philosophy with kids is always centered around empathy and understanding. Being a kid (and especially a teen) can be hard and confusing, and I hope by being a positive adult role model, I can make it a little bit easier.
