About Kate

I started babysitting in high school and continued with part-time nannying during college breaks (in Chicago) and more full-time throughout graduate school (in Los Angeles). After beginning work full time after school, I babysat in the evenings and on weekends up until the COVID-19 pandemic. All of my experience has been a mixture of daytime (10+ hours) and evening sitting. We have taken trips to picnic at nearby public parks, and I've been responsible for everything from brushing teeth and hair to making meals and implementing nap time. My knowledge of the latest childcare technology has vastly improved as I've worked with baby monitors, sound machines, safety locks, and diaper trashcans. Also, I have celiac disease and have been gluten free for 15 years, so if your child has celiac or is gluten free, I am very knowledgeable about gluten free foods and cross contamination as well as understanding the severity of any other food allergies.
