I was a nanny for a newborn from the age of 7 weeks to 3 years old. The responsibilities of the position were to feed her, prepare her bottles, change her clothes and diapers, play with her (indoors and outdoors), bathe her, help her learn and grow, and most importantly, to be the best nanny I could be in order to make her parents feel comfortable while leaving their child in my care. As she got older, I took her to many different places of activity including art class, dance class, the pool, the park, summer camp, and even early daycare. As far as household chores, which I wasn't asked to do, I would empty the dishwasher, straighten up the toys and other belongings, and also did the baby's wash. I also have past experience in watching a 2-year-old little boy through a friend of mine. Many of the responsibilities in watching him were similar to that of the little girl. I've been in the medical field for 30+ years including pediatrics. I really would enjoy watching an infant because I know so much about them and their needs. However, I would be comfortable taking care of any other toddlers or even older children!
