Hello families! First I want to start with my most recent experience of working with a non profit organization that works directly with individuals with disabilities and their families, in this position I was a camp director for our day camp program as well as a camp counselor for an overnight teen and young adult camp. Both of these programs were exclusively for people with disabilities and I got to care for kids and adults with a range of disabilities including Cerebral Palsy, Down syndrome, Autism, developmental delays, and more. I really fell in love with building relationships with these children and young adults and caring for them and advocating for them in all of the best practices I've learned!
