About Karisa

A bit about me: I graduated in 2023 with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychological & Brain Sciences and have years of experience working with children. I worked as a volunteer Sunday school teacher for 3-5-year-olds during my junior and senior year of high school. As a junior in college, I worked as a nanny for two families, one with 3 children under 4 and the other with two children under 4. After graduating, I worked for a little over a year at an Reggio-inspired early childhood education center where I was a teacher for 2-year-olds. As I am no longer working in that field, I now am able to work with individual families more directly. As a caregiver, I like to encourage screen-free play time and create learning opportunities based on the needs and interests of the child. It is my belief that every child is uniquely capable and deserving of respect, no matter how young they are, and I provide care with a patience and gentleness that is rooted in that belief.
