I have a 21-year-old son with Autism, so I have plenty of hands-on personal experience at all ages through young adult years. I've attended many informational conferences, had ABA training, read more books on Autism and Special Needs that I could ever count, experience in dealing with meltdowns, tantrums, sad times, happy times, and all the ups and downs in between. I've also worked in pre-school as an aide to special needs students. I've volunteered in our public school working with children of all abilities. I also participate in our County Special Olympics program, volunteering to work events with athletes and their families. I am also a member of the Special Olympics Advisory Committee.
