Karen has lovingly taken care of my husband, Larry, for the past four years. Although he has dementia, she has encouraged him to read to her, and visit about the past and current issues. She reads to him and then visits about the topic. They share a love of history, poetry and literature. She helps him do physical exercises that promote mobility and stress management. She gives him a snack, coffee and milk. I know Larry is in good hands when I leave to do a task. She has become a good friend as well as caregiver.
