About Karen

I'm an RN with experience working with people with dementia as well as people in psychiatric distress. I am a good listener & a calm soothing presence but I am also fun & up for new experiences. I'd describe my personality as calm, caring & compassionate I like caring for seniors because I love to hear about the experiences people have had over their lives. I'm looking for a job that feels meaningful & has a fairly routine schedule most of the time. I started caring for seniors when I returned to nursing after having been a mental health nurse for 5 years. I worked briefly in an Assisted Living & then transitioned to home care. In my spare time, I like to spend time with my husband & my dog going for hikes or walks; I am an avid reader of fiction; I like to run & sometimes run races like half marathons. One thing you should know about me is I am punctual, reliable, and discreet. My skills include medication management, meal preparation & recreational/leisure activities.
