About Karen

I'd describe my personality as reliable, loving, and loyal. I like working with kids because they are all different. A child's smile or laughter brings me joy. I love the simplicity of a child and how I have been able to mold so many into who they are today. I'm looking for a job that allows me to be helpful and caring. I love people and I love helping those people. I started working with kids when I was very young. Teaching Sunday school, raising my own family, running a daycare out of my home for 10 years. Now, I am enjoying grandchildren and our 15-year-old daughter, who has Down Syndrome. In my spare time, I like to garden, walk and spend time with family. One thing you should know about me is I have experienced the highs and lows of parenthood. The snuggles and cuddles, the struggles of teenagers and learning disabilities. My skills include 10 years experience running an in home day care as well as 30 years of parenting experience which include developmental disabilities.
