About Karen

Hello, my name is Karen! I am originally from Colombia and have lived in the United States for over 10 years. I hold a degree in Finance from the University of Washington, where I graduated last year. My journey working with children began at a young age as an au pair and nanny, which taught me the importance of nurturing care and building strong connections. Later, I transitioned to working with a nonprofit organization, where I supported children with disabilities, underserved populations, and low-income families. I worked one-on-one with families, evaluating their immediate needs and connecting them with vital resources in the King County area. Currently, I work as a Financial Analyst for a nonprofit organization, allocating financial resources to support foster youth across Washington. While I am proud of the work I do, my passion lies in directly caring for and supporting children. I believe I can make an even greater impact by returning to hands-on childcare.
