About Karen

During a career in Quality Management, primary school library and secondary science teaching, the most rewarding job I ever held was as the single parent to the two kids I raised to go off to thriving careers in the Creative Arts. With broad experience in old-fashioned hands-on fun with kids from origami to Legos to participatory nutritious meal prep, I feel a bit like a wannabe grandma chomping at the bit, anxious to jump back into child care. The versatility of my repertoire and exercise of patience in face of the more difficult challenges of caregiving were recently deepened by the four years I spent as the live-in caregiver for a family member who passed of dementia during the pandemic. Maybe I can contribute to a solution to your child-care needs.
