About Karen

I am a Registered Behavioral Therapist. I currently work in homes with children on the Autism Spectrum who range from preschool to elementary age. Prior to this I worked as a nanny for 5 years. I am CPR/BLS certified. I am a mother of two adult children. As mine were growing, I was a licensed in home preschool teacher. When they became school age, I began working for San Juan Capistrano School District in Special Education. I did that for 8 years, working with students of all ages. I have worked for the public libraries as a Storytime Conductor and Children's Program Facilitator , running the Preschool Readiness Program for 10 years. I have always had a strong passion for children. Playing, singing, dancing, reading and laughing with them keeps me young! They don't realize it, but they're doing all their learning through these things if the teacher is good. Even their chores can be made into a positive experience. Every moment is a learning opportunity for life.
