About Karen

I started working with kids when I was a teenager and began babysitting kids from my church. I currently am a high school teacher and I love working with youth and getting to help shape their world! In my spare time, I like to hangout with my horse and my cats and spend time with my family playing board games and eating great food. One thing you should know about me is I don't just sit kids in front of the tv when I'm babysitting. I interact with them and try to play with them and engage with them in their world so that they can have a great time while you get a much needed break. My skills include training and experience working with youth of all different backgrounds and abilities-I've been a teacher for 8 years! I also bring empathy and understanding. I have training in restorative justice and I try to use communication skills and understanding our feelings to help solve problems and conflict resolution.
