Hello, my name is Karen B. I'm an SFSU graduate with a BA in Child and Adolescent Development and a minor in Philosophy. I'm currently a substitute teacher, working at a variety of schools in the East Bay (K-12). I am the oldest sibling of six, from a big family. I enjoy journaling, painting, listening to music, and exploring. I studied abroad in Ghana in spring 2023, and it was such an amazing experience! It has inspired me to want to continue to travel when I can, to appreciate and learn more about different cultures all over the world. I love caring for children because it allows a space for constant learning and inspiration not only for them, but for myself as well. I understand that each and every child is unique and has their own specific needs. I am always willing to learn and adapt to meet those needs. I plan to bring lots of fun, outgoing energy, while also building a foundation of trust and empathy with the children I care for.
