About Karen

I'd describe myself as kind, calm, patient, understanding, compassionate, and dependable. I know how important companionship is for seniors and those who need care. I am trained in CPR, wound care, and first aid. I am very knowledgeable about sterile procedures. I was a hands-on caretaker for both my mother and aunt through their final years at home (over 10 years), which included home hospice care. In my spare time I rescue dogs, and I am comfortable with all kinds of pets. My skills include helping with bathing, dressing, general mobility, transportation to appointments, shopping, cooking, cleaning, and exercising. I am skilled in the use of hoyer lifts, wheelchairs, pumps, and administering medication/shots. I have experience with patients who have alzheimers or dementia.
