About Kalene

I am interested in both babysitting for children, as well as animals. I have been a teacher's assistant for children ages three to five, in a classroom environment. We used child-derived problem solving when conflicts arose. We did not tell the children what to do, but had them come up with their own solutions. We did not scorn emotional distress, but had children embrace it and find out why they were upset. These children came up with more creative, fun and insightful solutions that us, adults, in the classroom ever could imagine. I have also been babysitting from a young age. I have worked as receptionist, animal care-taker and vet technician assistant at Willington Veterinary Center. I have learned to master time management, paperwork completion, and learning a surplus of information about our beloved four-legged children in a short amount of time. I have always loved animals. I have always had animals. I have experience in successfully teaching dogs tricks, as well as simple training techniques. I am always the one having to stop at every dog and give them a pet, find out their name and what kind of dog they are. In both of these settings I have learned how to provide a loving environment for people's children, fun environment when appropriate, and all the while making sure everything is under control in the setting safety-wise. Caring for other people, helping them learn and grow and learning from them is a passion I have pursued and developed in my life, and I can't wait to continue!
