Hi! I'm Kadija (ka-dee-jah)! With nearly 7 years in child care, I graduated from Temple University with a BA in Communication Studies tin 2021. My journey has been diverse, spanning roles as a private nanny, tutor, Montessori preschool Teacher's Aide, and credentialed substitute teacher. During my time in Philadelphia as a Montessori Teacher Assistant, I developed a deep appreciation for the Montessori method. Its emphasis on nurturing independence and curiosity in children resonates deeply with me. . I am dedicated to creating nurturing and stimulating environments where children can thrive emotionally, socially, and intellectually. I love integrating art, outdoor activities, and hands-on crafts into educational experiences to ensure learning is always enjoyable and engaging. Kadijatu (we called her Kadija) joined our team as a nanny in summer 2022. Kadija was responsible for school pick up, taking the kids to their activities after school, entertaining them during downtime, and generally assisting with helping the village that makes this household run smoothly. We adore Kadija. She has a gentle, kind, firm when necessary, and creative demeanor with the kids (4M, 3F and 2F) that is truly extraordinary. The kiddos loved being around her, and grownups working in the house did too! She is extremely communicative, easy to be around, rolled with the punches, and was a joy to work with. She is extremely open to feedback, regularly asks how she can be more helpful, and is quick to make adjustments if necessary (the only feedback we had were some particulars like how to fold kiddo laundry Marie Kondo style). Unfortunately, we had to let Kadija go due to budget constraints. Her calm, loving, humorous presence is dearly, dearly missed by household staff, parents, and kiddos alike. She was our "magic unicorn nanny".
