Have you ever had a conversation with a senior before? grandfather was known to talk your ear off and it was always my favorite thing about him, I learned so much and watched him age backwards as he relived his favorite memories with me. Sometimes just sitting there and listening can make them feel so alive again. I started caring for seniors when my grandmother was diagnosed with brain cancer. I'd go over weekly to help my grandfather with household chores, meal prepping and basic needs. All while ensuring my grandmothers basic medical needs were met. One thing you should know about me is although I do not have medical knowledge I believe that I can provide basic support for a loved one. Making sure they are not doing anything unnecessary and are eating, drinking and taking medication as needed. I have a degree in management and took many psychology classes that I believe has helped me understand the importance of not overstepping but rather assisting.
