Julie V. has nannied for our family for a little over year and a half, from December 2014 to June 2016. We whole-heartedly and enthusiastically give Julie our highest recommendations. She has exceeded our expectations in every way. Julie started with us when our children were just over 2 year old and 4 months old; they are now 3.5 years old and 20 months old. Julie has been an absolutely amazing caregiver for our children and immensely helpful to our whole family. She is professional and trustworthy. Julie truly treats being a nanny as a profession. She is exceptionally reliable, punctual, respectful, and responsible. We have never doubted that her priority was the safety, care, and development of our children and we felt very secure in trusting Julie with the security of our house. Julie is a great communicator, whether it was about the kids being sick, asking questions and answering ours, or accommodating surprises or changes in the schedule. Julie is smart, adaptive, and knows kids and parenting. She is not afraid to exercise discipline with the kids in lock-step with our parenting style. Julie offers great suggestions on ways to discipline the kids and help them learn self-control, many of which have become part of our parenting style. Julie manages well the balance between disciplining and nurturing the kids and they love her dearly. When it comes to playtime, Julie is hands-on and does not hesitate to get down on the ground to play with the kids. She makes a teaching opportunity out of everything, teaching the kids about number and letters, chores, culture, science, and even some French. Our children have thrived under Julie's care. She has reinforced in the kids what is most important to us: self-confidence, politeness and respect, fun, and learning. While working with us, Julie's duties have included making breakfast; getting the kids up, fed, and ready for the day; making them lunch and an afternoon snack; and taking care of them all day. Though her priority is always the children, Julie also manages small household chores throughout the day and the house is always cleaner when we get home than when we left it. During the day, the kids' regular routine includes playing indoors and outside, reading, crafts and other art activities, neighborhood walks, and trips to the park or indoor playground. On certain days of the week, their routine includes activities away from the house, including dance class and story time at the library. Julie also regularly takes the kids on playdates with families we know and to picnics at the park. Julie communicates with us throughout the day, most typically via text and especially when taking the kids out and about, so we know at all times where she and the kids are.
