About Julie

I am an experienced childcare provider to infants and children of all ages. I live in Stuart and am currently seeking a part-time position to care for your most precious family member(s). I am available Monday through Friday, hours flexible. I'm married and a "young" mother to four adult children (youngest two are attending college out-of-state). I have a sporty, 6-year-old grandson who I adore. I am active, strong and have no physical restrictions. I enjoy biking, swimming, reading, attending musicals/sporting events, arts/crafts, and walking my dog. My family has always enjoyed the companionship of pets, and I am currently the proud owner of a 2-year-old rescue puppy. I am personable, caring, and patient. I am fascinated with a child's mind, and like the challenge of discovery and exploration through interaction. It's important that children learn by using all of their senses: sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch. This can be taught to children of any age group. I am a strong believer that playtime can be learn-time. Children have a great capacity to learn at an astonishing rate if there is a caretaker who can interact with age-appropriate activities! I began babysitting as a pre-teen for other families. I was an assistant coach for three years to a competitive girls' gymnastics team, ages 6-16 years. I taught tumbling for two years to boys and girls, ages 4-5 years. I come from a family of four siblings, and have cared for four nephews and three nieces. I volunteered as a kindergarten-helper for three years. I have chaperoned various children's activities, as well as raised my children. I'm originally from Texas and resided in Massachusetts for about 15 years. For past 10 years, I worked full-time as an insurance agent. Now that I've permanently relocated to Florida, I have the luxury of choosing a new career path in childcare, which I know will be more rewarding to me. I was previously certified in CPR, but have chosen to refresh my education. I am currently enrolled in an American Red Cross course, Family First Aid and Pediatric CPR. I am mature, reliable, and take my duties to care for your most precious family member(s) seriously and as a professional.
