I have 20 years of experience with working with the elderly and people with traumatic brain injuries. A lot of my experience is with people with Alzheimer's dementia. I was a caregiver for my father who had vascular/Alzheimer's dementia that progressed very rapidly. He passed away almost 2 years ago and we miss him very much. I have found great comfort and happiness caring for a client who also suffers from Alzheimer's and have been working with her one day a week for the last year. Now that my kids are getting older and I have more free time I would like to take one more part time client. I was also a CNA, however my license expired because I took 5 years off to stay home with my son. There is a minimum of hours needed to work in a medical facility to continue your state license. I am planning to retake the state test and renew my license in the near future.
