Hello! The past 14+ years my work has focused on dementia care, so I've been a nanny/sitter for many years - they've just been BIG kids. It's rewarding work and I've appreciated my experience within the field - where one can pour one's heart into their work. My approach to dementia care has been to embrace the child-like aspects of the condition - which has resulted in joy, creativity, connection - even healing. Because of this I've often been asked if I'd consider working with kids. Yes I would! My senior caregiver profile sums up my philosophy in terms of the nature of care-giving and the awesome responsibility for the well-being of others. It also lists references from the great families familiar with my work. Whether it's the older folks or the little people among us, I believe in keeping things as organic as possible and - as always - safety, comfort, and respect as core principles.
