I have worked taking care of people most of my life. Usually children but I have done elderly care too. My first in-home care job was for my great grandmother in my grandmother's home. My great grandma had dementia and needed help showering and getting dressed. I also did most of the cooking and cleaning including laundry, dishes, dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming as well as weekly bed sheet changes and cleaning out the fridge. I did this for a year until she was moved to a home. My second in-home care job was for a disabled 50-year-old woman. She had medical conditions as well as very bad anxiety and needed companion care as well as help with everyday tasks. I did the cooking for her whole family and all the cleaning. Including deep cleans once a week. I helped her bathe and get dressed as well as a weekly foot care routine. I helped with all of her errands including medical appointments, grocery shopping and picking up her grand-kids from school.
