About Julie

Since the fall of 1986, I've been inspiring students from age 3-70 to discover the joy of learning and to discover how very capable they are. Whether as a classroom teacher, community education instructor, or private tutor, I've guided students through a wide variety of subjects. Personal study of the psychology and neurology of learning enables me to use "brain-based" teaching techniques that allow students to tap into types of intelligences they don't even know they possess. During my career as a public and private school teacher, my room was filled with both neuro-typical and neurodivergent children. Since leaving the classroom, I have helped many struggling learners, including those diagnosed with dyslexia, ADHD, and autism spectrum disorder. As a tutor, I will work closely with you and your child's teachers, providing that extra leg of support your child needs to excel in school. I hope you will consider my application.
