We hired this person to watch our newborn and 4 year old son. We picked her because she was a certified teacher, and we wanted her to help get our eldest kindergarten-ready. We terminated her employment after 2 months. She was punctual, but she displayed behaviors that were concerning for someone watching children. Namely, she appeared to be incapable of handling expectations. She was irritated when we asked her to go over his alphabet and numbers on a daily basis. She even went so far as to say our son couldn't know his alphabet until he's seven. Likewise, she developed as strange notion about our son, ascribing him with thoughts that were so outside of the realm of what 4 year olds think about. For example, when she was leaving our house one day, he told her, "I get to watch my cartoons now!" She told me that she interpreted that "I win and you lose because I get to watch the cartoons that you don't let me watch during the day!" It seems really weird to me that she would interpret that statement as anything other than a preschooler's excitement to watch cartoons because he really loves cartoons. Statements like that made me feel like she wasn't a good and stable choice for watching my children.
