Hi! I am a retired Texas special education teacher and a dedicated Christian caregiver. I truly enjoy working with seniors and have the patience and proven track record to serve them well. Some of the seniors' needs I provide are: med reminders, meals & snacks, cleaning/ laundry, shopping or other errands... transportation to appointments, companionship, library books, reading to them, memory activities, and more. I create healthy meals according to client wants, nutritional needs, budget, ability to eat, etc. For example, one client I worked with (from age 88 - 91) had leg swelling every afternoon/ evening and had to elevate his legs. I researched experts on what helps w/ leg swelling. He liked salads, but rarely had them since he couldn't make them. I began making green salads (for the minerals and live enzymes). He also liked daily orange juice (without the pulp!). The experts had mentioned calcium so I bought o. j.-no pulp- with added calcium~ the swelling soon went away!
