I have babysat and worked with children in elementary school with special needs as babies to elementary school children. I have worked with children diagnosed with ADD, ADHD, Aspergers, Autism, Blindness, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Sensory Disorder, hearing and speech problems, and developmental delays, and others. My son had many special needs including ADD, Auditory Processing Delay, and speech problems that I needed to homeschool or tutor him for school. I have learned that these children can be very different from each other and need very individualized instruction and patient, compassionate care.
