About Joy

Hello, my name is Joy and I along with my family have lived in New Bern for the last 18 years. I've been told my personality fits my name and hopefully you will find that to be true as well. I am part of what they call the sandwich generation having elderly parents and a8-year-old (who I homeschool )so you can say caregiving is a large part of my life. Over the years, I have worked in a variety of settings from medical offices to being a travel agent and even a school bus driver for special ed children. Currently, I am a stay at home/homeschool mom and I help care for my elderly parents, including my father who has dementia. Taking care of my father has educated me on the realities of memory loss and cognitive decline. It has helped me improve my patience, as well as empathy for others in this situation. I am looking for employment opportunities that allow me to continue in these responsibilities while allowing me to earn an income for myself. I look forward to meeting you!
