About Joy

I'm an educator with 25-plus years of experience and a proud mother of five. From my experience, I've learned that having patience and a sense of humor is crucial when working with young children. I strongly believe that a child's happiness is influenced by good food, staying active, reading interesting books, and getting plenty of sleep. When I'm not busy, I enjoy cooking, traveling, practicing Pilates, and laughing with my family. I'd describe my personality as friendly and very talkative. I like working with kids because every day is different. While interacting with kids can be challenging at times it is always fun! I started working with kids when I was only 11 when I landed my first babysitting gig and never stopped. While in college I acted as a community swim coach. I received my degree and started my full-time career working in education. My skills include diffusing conflict, turning tears into smiles, and listening.
