I am a year out of college and certified in Special Education. I just finished my first year of teaching at an all special ed school in an elementary classroom for students with emotional disabilities. I have had many experiences with students with special needs. I recently worked with a 17-year-old girl who has Epilepsy, staying overnight with her. I worked with a young boy who had autism two summers ago at a children's gym. We worked on signs, movement and being a part of the class. While a student in college, I was a teacher aid in a kindergarten/1st grade class for students with mild cognitive impairment. We worked on letters, drawing, classroom routines and computer work. I also student taught at a academy which was for college aged students with cognitive impairment. I've worked with many students one on one in the classroom and am passionate about children's learning. I love seeing children make progress, explore, and have fun. I have been babysitting for the past 12 years for various families. I have worked with kids of all ages ranging from infants to college students with disabilities. I am energetic, responsible, patient and I love kids!
