Hi! My name is Joy. I'm a 39yo female in the Mechanicsburg area. I just adore kids and I believe every child deserves to be nurtured, engaged, and encouraged! I have played alot of roles over the last several yrs that give me unique skillsets that I believe will come in handy with your child. For the last 18 yrs, I have lived as a full-time artist. This especially came in handy during the pandemic when I began a project called "Paint on the Porch" welcoming neighborhood kids (mostly middle-schoolers) into a fun, interactive space where they could spend time with friends, exercise their creativity muscle, and, and do something tactile. At that time most kids were being baby-sat by their screens or doing online schooling; so I could see that this was a much-needed outlet for them. This is important for me to mention b/c I believe most parents struggle with how to engage their kids when screen culture is so prevalent. I am able to help with tutoring, snacks, afterschool pickup, and more.

She brought a positive attitude and a lot of energy into every interaction with my children. She would always come up with fun interactive projects for them to work on. She listened to their thoughts and ideas attentively creating strong bonds of trust and making them feel safe and validated. At the same time she was good with setting up healthy boundaries and saying no when necessary.
