About Joye

I'd describe my personality as calm, caring, and fun. I like caring for seniors because I've cared for my grandmother and my mother. My mom lives too far away for me to care for her regularly, but I am so grateful for the people who are able to step in that I want to pass it on here by helping others. I'm looking for a job that allows me to make a positive difference in people's lives. I started caring for seniors first when I lived with my grandmother in college (1990), but more recently for my mother after she suffered a stroke in January 2019. I was with her at every step, from the ICU, rehab, back home, Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing. In my spare time, I like to garden, do woodworking, take photos, and spend time with my family. One thing you should know about me is I can remain calm in the face of chaos. My skills include meal preparation/mealtime help, conversation and mental stimulation, and compassion without condescension.
