This past school year I've been working at a high school with special needs students. It's been an amazing experience. We have students with high functioning Autism to non verbal but communicative. We also have students with Down Syndrome, Muscular Dystrophy, and other cognitive and behavioral issues. It's been the greatest job I've ever had. They have an ability to connect with other people in a way most individuals can't. Even if it isn't in a "traditional" way. Though they may be difficult at times, they bring so much joy .
