I have had a love for people with special needs since a very young age. I believe they have an amazing ability to see the world in a way no Neuro/physical- typical person could. I volunteered with a 10-year-old, highly autistic boy at my church. During Sunday school I was his para and helped keep him calm and happy. He was nonverbal, but we found ways to communicate and I believe I was blessed to have had that opportunity.
