John was an excellent caregiver for my 95 year old. He is very knowledgeable and experienced. He treated my frail father with respect and kindness. He had many tips and suggestions about methods to get my father to eat and drink. He and my dad hit it off and had meaningful discussions. I immediately knew I could trust John-which helped me to get my best nights sleep in many weeks, bringing me back from the brink of exhaustion. John was a great communicator and observer, explaining to me and my family what was going on with my dad’s health and comfort, and what can be done to improve his situation. When John wasn’t busy with my dad he was taking care of the house, doing dishes, cooking, watering the garden, doing laundry, changing sheets, cleaning up my dad’s closet, etc. He even noticed my dad’s workshop had tons of sawdust on the floor and asked permission to vacuum it up. Unfortunately my dad’s health declined and John found himself on our hospice team. The professional hospice staff told me many times what an outstanding job John was doing. John’s temperament and emotional intelligence were extremely valuable as my dad declined and our large family gathered around. John was sensitive and unobtrusive while he tended to all of my dads physical and comfort needs as his life force drained away. I honestly don’t know how we could have gotten through my dads journey from hospital to home, and then through the hospice process, without John. He has my highest recommendation.
