I have recently retired from a school system after 25 years as a school social worker. I am seeking part time hours as a caregiver. I believe working with people in a capacity to offer help, support, companionship and friendship is rewarding in many ways. Though I do not have formal experience working with elderly persons, I have done so casually throughout my life by providing help and support to elderly neighbors and family members. I believe in treating all with respect and I recognize the importance of one's dignity and pride as they age, being sensitive to their feelings of loss of independence. I am a caregiver by nature whether it be with children, pets and adults. I am empathic and friendly and feel comfortable in roles of care giving.
