Hi, my name is Jodie. I have three years experience working with children with special needs; Down syndrome, mentally and physically handicapped, adhd, speech impediment and autism. I worked as a special needs counselor for the City of Alexandria for 2 years, and I have over 20 years of teaching experience. I have raised two children of my own. I love providing top quality care for children and ensure their safety at all times. Keeping the children entertained with activities of creativity, play, and adventure is a daily goal, as well as working to improve their struggles. Working as a team with the parents is high priority.

We first hired Jodie as a caregiver for our two young children, one of which has special needs, while we were out of town on a business trip. We were impressed with Jodie's professionalism, attention to detail and loving nature. She was spontaneous and flexible to meet the needs of our daughter who has difficulty with new situations. She planned fun excursions, special activities and used her expertise in working with children over the years to help our children feel at ease in our absence. Jodie maintained communication with us and gave us complete confidence that our children were being well cared for. Jodie is energetic, nurturing and has an amazing heart to care for children. She incorporates purposeful learning into play time as well as helping to ensure that parental goals and objectives are being met. Our children love her and I cannot imagine a better person to care for our children.
