I have had many long-term positions - newborns, twin infants, toddler/preschool, school-age and special needs; I am blessed to still see the former families. I am CPR/First Aid/AED certified (a given,) have a squeaky-clean DMV/BCI check; I am fully vaccinated. I have a passion for the arts; I am well-versed in children's literature; I love being outside in all four seasons, have reliable transportation and enjoy taking children on outings at the parent's discretion. (Although I am "seasoned" in age, I encourage prospective families to view me as bringing a grandmotherly-presence to children - still able-bodied, mature and nurturing, with no personal commitments to conflict with a family's needs.)

My wife and I were very lucky to have family available to care for our children while we worked for a long time however, the time inevitably came to search for outside help. We were extremely nervous about what this change, and what to expect with it, and we began searching online for sitters/nannies. Searching separately on different sites, my wife and I somehow both found Joann, and sent her profile to each other, without realizing it. We ultimately decided to meet her, and she immediately set our minds at ease with her calm, friendly demeanor. Fast forward to today, and Joann has now been a constant in our lives for almost two years, watching both our youngest during the day, and our oldest when he returns from school. Joann is always on time and shows up ready to engage with the kids with whatever they have in mind, and quite often she has something planned for an activity already. Between play time, walks around the neighborhood, reading and craft projects, Joann always finds a way to engage with the kiddos and keep them busy for the day. The kids, and us, absolutely adore her. We could not have asked for a better person to come into our lives at the time that we needed it.
