About Joanne

My mother has been sick since I was 15 years old and a little over 3 years ago I quit my job and moved back home to take care of her. I don't have any formal training but I pay close attention whenever she is at the doctor's office or in the hospital. I have experience giving medications (oral, injectable, etc), helping with physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and limited mobility, cleaning and grooming, wound care, post-surgery care, bed-pan usage, Hoyer Lift usage, accompanying patients to doctor's visits and helping them to get the best care possible, helping to deal with insurance and Medicare. I am a fast learner and very compassionate. I don't think that anyone should be uncomfortable or made to feel like a burden so I go out of my way to alleviate those feeling and to provide loving, patient, and proper care and also to make sure that they keep themselves active in whatever way that they can, especially their minds, by reading to them, playing games with them, taking them on walks, and providing appropriate stimulating and brain-building activities.
