Joan is an experienced educator who works well with all types of children. She particularly helped us with some of our behaviorally challenged young students. She was punctual, organized, and at all times, calm when working with the students. The students felt she cared about them and they responded positively to her redirection and support. With her colleagues she was respectful, funny and fully supportive of them. She went out of her way to be helpful, even giving up her break times to be with students. When we hired a full time sped teacher for her students (Joan was a long term sub for us) she put the classroom together and organized the materials for the new teacher. She did this on her own time and she certainly did not have to but felt it would be better for the new teacher.
